JOB DESCRIPTION
Midland Transport is currently seeking a Data and Analytics Lead in Dieppe, NB. The Data and Analytics Lead is a transformation role within the Pursuit Program, accountable for serving as the primary data and analytical lead for the Maintenance domain. This role provides deep expertise in how data moves across the business-how it is created, consumed, transformed, and connected-to support integration design, operational insight development, and evidence-based decision-making throughout the transformation lifecycle.
The Data and Analytics Lead bridges the gap between business operations and data architecture by mapping current-state data flows, identifying data quality gaps, and defining future-state data requirements that align with integration strategies and platform modernization objectives. They translate complex data relationships into clear, actionable insights that inform product design, process optimization, and business case development.
This role partners closely with Business Architects, Solution Architects, Integration Leads, Product Owners, and Operations stakeholders to ensure data integrity, analytical rigor, and alignment between domain-specific data needs and enterprise-wide data strategy-enabling confident, data-driven decisions across the transformation.

RESPONSIBILITIES
• Act as the data and analytics lead for Maintenance, building deep understanding of data across systems and processes.
• Document and align data flows with transformation goals.
• Deliver insights and reporting that support decisions, process design, and business cases.
• Analyze current and future data flows to identify gaps, dependencies, and improvement opportunities.
• Collaborate with architects and integration leads to ensure accurate data requirements in solution design.
• Define and enforce data quality standards, validation rules, and exception handling.
• Support data governance, including cataloging, metadata, and master data consistency.
QUALIFICATIONS
• 5-8 years of experience in data analysis, business intelligence, or data engineering within operational or transformational environments.
• Applicable degree or relevant experience
• Proven experience mapping data flows and multi-system environments.
• Demonstrated ability to translate operational data into actionable business insights for senior stakeholders.
• Experience working with Agile, hybrid, or phased delivery models in enterprise programs.
• Deep understanding of data architecture concepts, data flow mapping, and integration patterns.
• Proficiency in data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) and analytical platforms.
• Proficient in SQL, data modelling, and data quality management practices.
• Ability to work effectively across business and technical teams, translating between operational language and data/system terminology.
• Excellent communication skills, capable of presenting data-driven findings and recommendations to senior leaders and cross-functional teams.
• Data Analytics certification (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Data Analyst Associate, Google Data Analytics Professional Certificate) considered an asset.
