JOB DESCRIPTION
Midland Transport is currently seeking a Planner, reporting to the Night Linehaul Supervisor at the Head Office. The selected candidate will be a self-starter with a strong work ethic and a "Can Do" attitude.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Plan an assigned group of owner-operators and company drivers
• Monitor and balance fleet miles among all units
• Plan to meet specific mileage targets
• Communicate with customers to set up loads
• Work directly with customers to set up the movement of loads
• Help out shift dispatchers
• Enter, update, issue, and finalize purchase orders;
• Resolve driver issues
• Work with Pricing, Credit, Billing, and other departments
• Shared responsibility for weekly, monthly, and yearly financial results
• Other duties as required

QUALIFICATIONS

• Minimum High School diploma with a Community College certificate (up to one (1) year) in a related field or equivalent
• Minimum of two (2) years experience dispatch preferably in a planning role
• Two (2) years AS400 and multiple equipment dispatching preferred
• Strong multi-tasking and analytical skills
• Strong communication skills
• Ability to work with all levels within the organization
