RESPONSIBILITIES
- Leverage the Lean Six Sigma toolset at the Lean/Green Belt level to effectively plan, execute, and sustain continuous improvement initiatives.
- Engage and influence stakeholders through the application of the ADKAR change-management methodology.
- Apply formal project management methodologies to plan, manage, and deliver projects successfully.
- Deliver training for White Belt and Yellow Belt Lean Six Sigma candidates, ensuring clarity, engagement, and practical skill development.
- Coach and Mentor Yellow Belt candidates to support their progress and successful certification.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Recognized Degree or Diploma in Engineering, Technology or Manufacturing or equivalent including work experience.
- Lean Six Sigma Certification to Lean/Green Belt considered an asset.
- PROSCI certification (1-day Leading your Team Through Change) an asset.
- 2-5 years' experience in manufacturing or complex industrial environments.
- Experience in Basic Statistical Analysis, Root Cause Analysis, FMEA, Basic Measurement System Analysis, SIPOC, or Detailed Process Mapping.
- Working knowledge of shipyard disciplines (hull structure, ship arrangements, ship piping systems, propulsion, HVAC, electrical, mechanical, producibility, manufacturing) considered an asset.
- Skilled in process development, facilitation, and data-driven problem solving.
- Strong business acumen with ability to build cases and articulate value.
- Able to manage competing priorities and make sound, risk-based decisions.
- Understanding of project management fundamentals, ability to adhere to strict deadlines, manage and develop schedules.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to provide routine project updates to internal and external stakeholders.
- Confidently lead continuous improvement workshops including the resolution of conflict and engagement of stakeholders towards the workshop objective (e.g. SIPOC, Process Map, Fishbone Diagram).
Due to the nature of work Irving Shipbuilding does, all successful applicants must meet requirements for the Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP), Canadian Government Security clearance, and U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
Please note this position requires a full-time, in-office presence.
