JOB DESCRIPTION
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Financial Project Analyst to join our Finance team, reporting to the Director, Finance. This position works with members of the project management and supply chain teams in supporting the division's financial operations through accurate and timely financial and project reporting for internal and external stakeholders. The ideal candidate will bring strong analytical skills, a collaborative mindset, and a commitment to driving operational excellence. In addition, they will also provide agile support for ad hoc requests and contribute to continuous process improvement. This position is in person in our Saint John Office.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Financial Reporting

  • Complete period-end financial close activities such as journal entries, financial statement preparation and other reporting requirements
  • Monitor and manage outstanding items in Basware, CSS timesheets, and other financial systems to ensure timely resolution.
  • Prepare and review project cost analysis ensuring complete and accurate financial records
  • Support the finance calendar of commitments, ensuring timely delivery of all period-end tasks and reporting.
  • Prepare project cost budgets and forecast for the operations

Lender and other External Reporting

  • Assist in the preparation of period end financial packages and documentation required for external lenders
  • Lead initiatives for ITC applications and reporting ensuring it is complete and accurate
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders to gather and validate data for all other external reporting.

Ad-Hoc Request

  • Respond to inquiries from corporate, operations, and external stakeholders with sound financial analysis and judgment.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (Accounting/Finance);
  • Professional Accounting/Finance designation (CPA, CFA);
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel, with exposure to TM1 (Planning & Analytics), Cognos, Tableau and Alteryx considered an asset;
  • Strong analytical, leadership, and teamwork skills;
  • Adept at working independently, managing change and multiple tasks in small group settings and across diverse groups;
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally.
  • High attention to detail, goal oriented and tenacious; able to understand detailed data as well as find meaning in the big picture;
  • Comfortable working and interacting with , and presenting and communicating results to senior business leaders;
  • Able to manage tight deadlines and prioritize in a fast-paced and dynamic team environment, learn new tasks quickly and demonstrate flexibility when presented with change.
