JOB DESCRIPTION
A Test and Completions Planner role is responsible for developing job packages and schedules to ensure timely material delivery and efficient execution of scope by the production team. This position requires strong communication and coordination with production management personnel, as well as active participation in and facilitation of production and project meetings to support the ship delivery date.
An example of some of the work categories in this team include:
- Completions Outfit Planning
- Testing of tanks and hydro segments
- Subcontractor integration Planning
- Electrical system schedule integration
- Mechanical system schedule integration
- Test and Trials scheduling
- Compartment completion scheduling
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Utilize contract documentation, bill of materials, drawings and 3D Model to understand work scope, budget, and schedule.
- Create job packs and Schedule and that provide the necessary info to facilitate efficient execution of work and the timely delivery of material as well as completion of milestones.
- Ensure activity breakdown, sequence logic, and trade resource budgets for a given scope of work is accurately represented in P6 and is consistent with the schedule WBS.
- Report on issues with material stock levels which do not align with the planning schedule and communicate discrepancies/required actions to the Scheduling, Programs and Supply Chain teams.
- Provide trade specific support to the Planning and Production teams.
- Provide support to production and Test & Trials teams using reports/metrics as well as the creation and facilitation of Pre-Build/In Build reviews .
QUALIFICATIONS
- Post-secondary degree or diploma; preferably in technical, engineering, or related discipline.
- 2-4 years of planning or trade work experience, preferably in a naval shipbuilding or repair environment.
- Trade Certificate, Red Seal is considered an asset.
- Experience using Primavera P6, MS Excel, Aveva, or AutoCAD would be considered an asset.
- Thorough knowledge of naval repair methods is considered an asset.
- Lean/Six sigma White, Yellow, and Green Belts would be considered assets.
- Ability to interpret trade-related drawings.
