JOB DESCRIPTION
Reporting to the Farm Manager, the successful candidate will be a results-driven, self-starter who is always looking for opportunities for improvement, and has the ability to adapt to a fast paced, dynamic work environment.
It is a SEASONAL position starting at the end of September for a term of 4-5 weeks.
Work location: 281 Old Station Road, New Annan PE
Wages: $22.73 - $24
Bonus: a bonus of up to $600 is available upon completion of the season. It is based on performance, attendance, and safety.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Operate the truck to haul potatoes from the fields to the storage facilities.
- Follow the harvester in the field to load potatoes into trucks.
- Unload the potatoes at the storage facility.
- Back up the truck into position and use equipment to unload the potatoes into storage bins.
- Perform vehicle inspections; clean and perform mandatory maintenance to equipment including basic troubleshooting.
- Ensure completion of paperwork.
- Represent the company in a professional, positive and pleasant manner.
- Work safely to avoid harm to yourself, customer's property, co-workers, equipment, or inventory.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Perform all tasks with safety being the number one priority.
- Valid driver's license of Class 3A or higher (Class 1) and clean driver abstract .
- Availability to work extended hours, evenings and weekends.
- High degree of attention to detail.
- Previous experience working at the farm or hauling bulk product would be an asset.
- Able to work well independently and follow safety, quality control, and operating procedures at all times.
- Attention to detail is essential.
- Able to communicate with customers in a professional manner.
- Able to speak, read, and write the English language proficiently.
