  • Follow centre policies, licensing requirements, health and safety procedures, and confidentiality expectations.
  • Communicate professionally with families and colleagues.
  • Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and ongoing quality improvement.
  • Work collaboratively with the team to maintain a positive, respectful, and supportive workplace.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Early Childhood Education qualification recognized in Prince Edward Island, preferably Level 3 ECE, or another classification accepted by the applicable provincial requirements.
  • Knowledge of child development and developmentally appropriate, play-based learning.
  • Current First Aid and CPR certification, or willingness to obtain as required.
  • Clear criminal record and vulnerable sector checks, along with any other required screening.
  • Knowledge of health, safety, supervision, and childcare licensing requirements.
  • Strong communication, teamwork, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work professionally with children, families, and colleagues from diverse backgrounds.
  • Reliability, flexibility, patience, and a positive attitude.
  • Ability to work effectively in a busy early learning environment.
