Job Title: Apprentice or Journeyman Electrician

Location: Charlottetown, PE
Reports To: Kevin Haynes, Chris Wigmore & Site Foreman
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Summary:

Olympia Electric Limited is seeking a skilled and reliable Apprentice or Journeyman Electrician to install, maintain, and repair electrical systems for our projects. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience, a strong understanding of electrical codes and safety standards, and a commitment to delivering high-quality work on time.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures in accordance with relevant codes.
  • Inspect electrical systems, components, and equipment to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustments or repairs.
  • Troubleshoot electrical issues and provide effective solutions.
  • Read and interpret technical diagrams, blueprints, and specifications.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations.
  • Collaborate with team members, contractors, and project managers to complete projects efficiently.
  • Keep accurate records of work performed and materials used.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on electrical systems.

Qualifications:

  • Indentured Electrical Apprenticeship program.
  • Proven experience as a journeyman electrician preferred.
  • Solid understanding of electrical systems, blueprints, and safety protocols.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Physical stamina and ability to work in various environments, including construction sites.

Working Conditions:

  • Work may involve exposure to electrical hazards, heights, and confined spaces.
  • Standard work hours: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–4:30 PM, with occasional overtime requirements.
  • Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required.
