Welder

The welder will be responsible for metal core welding and MIG (Gas metal arc welding) for UTV International off-road utility vehicles.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform MIG welding (TIG welding an asset) on steel, aluminum, and other metals.
• Follow welding plans for dimensions and weld fillet types and sizes
• Fabricate, assemble, and weld components according to specifications.
• Inspect welds to ensure structural integrity, quality, and dimensional accuracy.
• Operate fabrication equipment including: Band saws, Drill presses, Grinders, Plasma cutter, Ironworker, Metal cutting equipment.
• Measure, cut, fit, and prepare materials for welding.
• Repair weld defects as required.
• Maintain welding equipment and perform routine preventative maintenance.
• Work closely with assemblers, engineers, and quality personnel to resolve production issues.
• Follow production schedules while maintaining high-quality standards.
• Clean out spatters and remove all sharp edges
• Maintaining an orderly and clean environment
• Report equipment concerns, quality issues, or safety hazards immediately.
• Follow all company health and safety procedures and wear required PPE.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
• Other duties as assigned

Education and Work Experience:

• Experience of at least 5+ years
• Certified Welder from the CWB (Canadian Welding Bureau)
• CWB -certified supervisor in accordance with norm 47.1 a plus

Requirements:

• Strong knowledge of Welded assembly plan and control of geometry with braces
• Must have quality control experience and organizational skills
• Ability to work with crane, lifting chains up to 4000 lbs assemblies
• Flexibility, efficiency, hard-working attitude
• Mechanics experience is an asset
• Must be a thinker
• Ability to work under pressure and with demands as a priority
• Strong work ethic is dedicated to tasks and project completion
• Inquisitive and has an internal drive to understand how systems operate
• Drive a forklift
• Clear and concise communication skills in English, trilingual is an asset (French, English, Spanish)
• Basic knowledge with Microsoft Office
