Sheet Metal Worker

Tekdata Metal Solutions is seeking a motivated Sheet Metal Worker eager to grow and develop their skills within our fabrication team.

This position is primarily focused on sheet metal fabrication and press brake operation, including bending, forming, and operating fabrication equipment. The role also involves supporting laser-cutting operations during production.

Whether you already have experience with laser cutting or are eager to learn, we provide on-site training on Amada laser systems by certified professionals.

You will play a key role in ensuring precision, quality, and efficiency in production.

Key Responsibilities

• Read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints - Mandatory
• Perform sheet metal fabrication tasks, including cutting, bending and shaping metal using shears, press brakes, and related equipment
  • Work with various materials: steel, stainless steel, aluminum, copper, and brass
  • Conduct quality inspections using precision measuring tools (calipers, tape measures, height-gauge) in both imperial and metric systems
  • Perform routine machine maintenance and basic troubleshooting
• Operate Amada laser cutting machines safely and efficiently
  •Load materials and monitor cutting programs during production
  • Perform basic machine setup and adjustments

Skills & Competencies

• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and plans
  • Experience using precision measuring tools (calipers, tape measures, gauges)
  • Ability to operate sheet metal equipment, including press brakes (bending machines) and shears
  • Strong attention to detail and a high level of precision
  • Good manual dexterity and versatility in handling metal fabrication tasks
  • Strong organizational, prioritization, and time management skills
  • Problem-solving mindset with initiative and accountability
  • Autonomous, resourceful, and responsible
  • Adaptable in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities ( Rush Jobs)
• Experience with laser cutting equipment (Amada or similar) is considered an asset
  • Basic understanding of laser parameters (focus, speed, power) is considered an asset
  • Ability to perform basic setups and adjustments on laser machines is considered an asset

Requirements

• 3-5 years of experience in sheet metal manufacturing
• DEP in Precision Sheet Metal or equivalent experience (required)
• Ability to read and interpret manufacturing drawings - Mandatory
• Strong manual skills and versatility in metal fabrication
• Experience with laser cutting equipment is considered an asset (training provided)
