Job Summary
Verka Landscaping is seeking an experienced and responsible Farm Supervisor to oversee and coordinate daily
agricultural and farm-related operations. The successful candidate will supervise farm workers, organize daily
work activities, monitor crop and plant production activities, maintain equipment and supplies, and ensure that
work is completed safely and efficiently.
The ideal candidate will have several years of hands-on agricultural experience, demonstrated leadership
abilities, and knowledge of general farm operations, crop handling, landscaping/agricultural activities, and
workplace safety.
Main Duties and Responsibilitie
The Farm Supervisor will be responsible for:
Supervise, coordinate and oversee the work of general farm workers and other agricultural labourers.
Assign duties and establish work schedules for farm workers.
Plan and organize daily farm work activities according to operational requirements.
Coordinate planting, cultivating, harvesting, and other crop-related activities as required.
Monitor crop growth, plant health and general agricultural conditions.
Assist with preparation of soil, planting, watering, fertilizing, weeding and harvesting activities.
Operate and supervise the operation of agricultural machinery, equipment and tools.
Inspect farm machinery, tools and equipment and arrange for maintenance or repairs when required.
Ensure that workers follow proper operating procedures and workplace safety requirements.
Train workers in job duties, safety procedures and the proper use of equipment aninery.
Monitor the quality and quantity of work completed by farm workers.
Maintain records related to production, work activities, supplies, equipment and worker schedules.
Order or assist in ordering seeds, plants, fertilizers, pesticides, animal feed, tools and other agricultural
supplies, as applicable.
Monitor inventory levels and ensure that necessary supplies are available for daily operations.
Assist with pest, weed and disease control activities in accordance with applicable safety and
environmental requirements.
Coordinate loading, unloading, handling and storage of crops, plants, agricultural products and supplies.
Ensure agricultural products are handled and stored appropriately to maintain quality.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas, storage areas and farm facilities.
Identify operational problems and take appropriate corrective action.
Report equipment problems, crop issues, safety concerns and other operational matters to management.
Ensure workers use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
Assist management with planning seasonal work and determining labour requirements.
Monitor employee attendance and productivity.
Provide guidance and practical training to new and existing farm workers.
Ensure that work is completed according to company standards, schedules and procedures.
Perform general farm and agricultural duties when required.
Other related duties as assigned by the employer.
Employment Requirements
Education:
High school diploma or GED equivalent.
A college certificate or specialized courses in agriculture, agribusiness, livestock production or a related
agricultural field would be an asset.
Experience:
one to two year experience required in any supervisory field. (Company will also trained)

Reliability, punctuality and a strong work ethic.
Working Conditions
Full-time employment.
33 hours per week.
Wage: $24.50/hour.
Work is primarily performed outdoors and may involve exposure to varying weather conditions.
The position may require standing, walking, bending, lifting and performing physical agricultural duties.
Work schedules may vary depending on seasonal and operational requirements.
