Adecco is currently hiring an Identity and Access Management (IAM) Architect for a 1.3-year temporary contract opportunity in Ottawa, ON. This remote role is ideal for an experienced cybersecurity professional with strong expertise in IAM architecture, Zero Trust principles, identity governance, and security frameworks within complex, regulated environments.
In this position, you will provide senior IAM guidance, develop enterprise identity strategies, and support cyber resilience initiatives by designing secure identity solutions aligned with business, security, and regulatory requirements.
- Pay Rate: $95,000 - $130,000 annually, based on experience
- Location: Ottawa, ON (Remote)
- Schedule: Monday to Friday 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM
- Employment Type: Full-Time 1.3-Year Temporary Contract
Responsibilities
- Provide senior Identity and Access Management (IAM) guidance, advisory services, and architecture support to advance cybersecurity and cyber resilience initiatives.
- Develop IAM strategic direction, target-state architecture, and long-term capability roadmaps.
- Lead the adoption of Zero Trust identity principles across users, workloads, applications, devices, services, and AI-enabled solutions.
- Design enterprise IAM architectures and governance models aligned with security, privacy, operational, and regulatory requirements.
- Establish authentication, authorization, and access governance patterns using technologies such as Microsoft Entra ID, SailPoint, CyberArk, Azure Key Vault, and related platforms.
- Develop standards and design patterns for identity governance, lifecycle management, access certification, entitlement management, and privileged access.
- Define approaches for managing non-human identities, including service accounts, workload identities, APIs, secrets, certificates, and machine-to-machine access.
- Support the development of agentic identity management capabilities and governance models to enable secure AI adoption.
- Establish authorization models, lifecycle controls, monitoring requirements, and governance processes for AI agent identities.
- Provide architectural oversight and technical guidance for IAM initiatives, ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture, Zero Trust principles, and strategic objectives.
- Review solution designs, implementation approaches, and technical deliverables created by project teams and service providers.
- Identify IAM capability gaps, technology risks, and control deficiencies while developing remediation strategies.
- Collaborate with cybersecurity, architecture, infrastructure, cloud, application, and data teams to integrate identity controls into technology solutions and business processes.
- Establish security requirements and architecture guidance for cloud identity, federation, privileged access, secrets management, and emerging technologies.
- Support the development of identity threat detection, monitoring, and response capabilities to strengthen cyber resilience.
- Create architecture documentation, standards, roadmaps, governance artifacts, and executive-level recommendations.
- Provide IAM expertise, knowledge transfer, and guidance to internal teams supporting identity initiatives.
- Support the planning, prioritization, and delivery of IAM capabilities within cybersecurity transformation programs and broader IAM initiatives.
- Qualifications
- Must be legally eligible to work and reside in Canada.
- University degree or college diploma in Computer Science, Information Security, Engineering, or a related field.
- Must hold a valid Secret level clearance or be eligible to obtain one.
- Minimum of five (5) years of recent experience in information technology, identity and access management (IAM), or cybersecurity.
- Minimum of three (3) years of recent experience as an IAM Architect, Identity Security Consultant, or similar role within complex, regulated environments.
- Demonstrated experience assessing current-state IAM capabilities and defining target-state IAM architectures and roadmaps.
- Experience designing and governing IAM controls, including identity governance, privileged access management, authentication, authorization, and Zero Trust identity capabilities.
- Experience identifying IAM, security, and compliance control gaps and recommending risk-based improvements.
- Experience developing IAM standards, reference architectures, design patterns, and governance frameworks.
- Experience working within the financial sector or another highly regulated environment is considered an asset.
- Knowledge of enterprise architecture frameworks such as TOGAF, SABSA, or similar approaches is considered an asset.
- Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, Microsoft, SailPoint, CyberArk, TOGAF, or SABSA are considered an asset.
- Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with technical teams, business stakeholders, and leadership groups.
