The Opportunity
Provides technical administration, support, and analysis of the company's critical network and business systems, including both the hardware and software environments.
The Role
- Performs a full range of system administration functions to control the operating and networking systems and servers.
- Assists in the design and implementation of system security measures such as backups, access control, system accounting, and disaster recovery to ensure and maintain system integrity and availability.
- Assists in isolating, performing quality assurance testing on, and correcting operating and network systems to recover full production status and prevent future failures and malfunctions.
- Manages and optimizes the windows server system's performance and capacity planning efforts to ensure system resources meet user demand.
- Supports and works with all IT technologies (e.g., Windows, network, security, SharePoint) to assist other team members as required.
- Keeps accurate and up-to-date documentation of changes and procedures.
- Researches existing and new technologies.
- Prioritizes, establishes plans, and manages multiple projects in progress as necessary to ensure completion.
- Provide end user support for higher level concerns as required
The Candidate
Education: Currently enrolled in, or recent graduate, from an IT or Business program.
Work Experience: Tier 1 and 2 level support
Knowledge: knowledge of Microsoft Windows systems; working knowledge of Linux Operating Systems, Active Directory, Exchange, and SharePoint. Experience with VBScript/PowerShell, Routers/Switches, Web services, Virtualization (VMWARE & Hyper-V), Terminal & VDI Services (Citrix & MS RDS), WSUS & Dell KACE - Patch Management, Network Security, File Services Security/Structure and Technical Writing. Extensive experience with MS SQL and other database technologies. Basic knowledge of .NET & Web programming technologies. Understanding of Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) and other Cloud based services.
Compensation
$22-28 per hour. Pay may vary based on skills, expertise, and performance, and is a component of the total rewards package.
