THE ROLE

As the Program Manager, Mental Performance, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of mental performance coaching services offered on military bases across Canada, in order to enhance the operational readiness of the Canadian Armed Forces. You will provide technical support and leadership to the Mental Performance teams that are already established on select bases, while assessing the need for services and overseeing the growth of Mental Performance capabilities on other bases. You will be responsible for developing and implementing program delivery standards and policies, building novel approaches to measure program success, and reporting on the impact of mental performance services on operational and tactical outcomes of relevance to Canadian Armed Forces leadership. This role integrates operational, tactical, and strategic responsibilities, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and the needs of diverse stakeholders.

QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED

Education, Certifications and Licenses

Master's degree in Sports Psychology, Kinesiology, Health Studies or a related field AND some years of experience in managing the delivery of mental performance coaching services

AND

Current Canadian Sports Psychology Association (CPSA) Professional Member

Current CPR and Standard First Aid certification

Experience

In planning, developing, organizing, and managing programs and projects

In drafting, applying and interpreting policies, procedures and regulations

In conducting research and analysis of programs and interventions

In delivering mental performance coaching

In managing and negotiating contracts

In budget administration

Competencies

Client focus, organizational knowledge, communication, innovation, teamwork and leadership.

LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS

Bilingual (English and French) Essential

Reading: Functional

Writing: Functional

Oral: Advanced

OTHER INFORMATION

This is a hybrid position with an assigned work location allowing the employee to work partly from a corporate office and partly from a home office in accordance with the CFMWS Flexible Work Options Policy, and with approval from the direct manager.
