THE ROLE As General Manager, HISTORY Ottawa, you will have the opportunity to be part of Live Nation Canada's newest music venue from the ground up. You will be responsible for building your team and meeting all opening deadlines and requirements. Once the venue is fully operational, you will be responsible for inspiring that team to create and deliver a fun, safe and entertaining experience that will exceed our guests' expectations. Your direction over the operations and leading your team to achieve goals will be key to our success. WHAT THIS ROLE WILL DO Operations Lead and manage teams to effectively provide a superior experience that will exceed our guests' expectations Establish and maintain service standards for staff, guests and vendors Effectively manage food and beverage operations including high-volume catering, alcohol service and regulations, restaurant and high-end dining Coordinate with Live Nation Leadership on security standards and protocols to ensure effective implementation Oversee all aspects of five-year CAPEX plan including planning, budgeting, execution and reconciliation Partner with local government and provincial legislators ensuring the highest standards of health, sanitation and cleanliness in all areas Manage physical venue/facility to ensure proper operation, maintenance and repair Facilitate proper communication and organization in the venue, as well as to and from head office Maintain positive talent relations by developing a solid understanding of the music industry to ensure that artists and industry representatives have positive experiences in the venue People Management & Development Recruit, retain and develop a highly performing and successful team dedicated to creating a world-class guest experience Provide continuous direction, support, feedback and coaching to direct reports and staff to ensure consistency towards safety and the overall guest experience Sales & Marketing Management Effectively increase market share by working with staff to create internal and external promotions Collaborate with Marketing, Premium Seat Sales, Food & Beverage, and Sponsorship teams to create innovative offerings Enhancing Revenue/Controlling Costs Identify and maximize revenue drivers while effectively managing venue budget to control expenses to meet or exceed annual budget Analyze reports to identify trends, future needs and obstacles to achieving goals Identify and conduct due diligence for all capital projects WHAT THIS PERSON WILL BRING A minimum of 5 years' relevant experience as a General Manager or Operations Manager in a hospitality-related business B.A. in Business Management or related field and/or equivalent experience Certified Health & Safety member Extensive background in event sales and promotion Excellent communication skills Proven ability to generate revenue and manage budgets effectively Strong problem-solving skills in long-term and immediate situations Strong leader with the passion and dedication to create a world-class guest experience BENEFITS & PERKS Our motto is 'Taking Care of Our Own' through 6 pillars of benefits: HEALTH: Medical, Dental and Vision benefits for you and your family, along with Employee Assistant Programs through Modern Health and ComPsych YOURSELF : Generous paid time off policy including holiday closures, and sick time for you and dependents, along with free concert tickets WEALTH: RRSP program with company match, Stock Program Reimbursement FAMILY: New parent programs & support including caregiver leave and baby bonus, and infertility support CAREER: Tuition reimbursement, student loan repayment internal growth and development programs & trainings OTHERS: Volunteer time off, crowdfunding network, gender reassignment support We thank all candidates for their interest, only those who will be selected for an interview will be contacted.
