DEPARTMENT: DIAGNOSTIC IMAGING - RADIOLOGY

POSITION: ONE (1) TEMPORARY PART TIME MEDICAL RADIATION TECHNOLOGIST (APPROX. 4 MONTHS)

SITE: NBRHC - NORTH BAY

HOURS: ALL SHIFTS AS REQUIRED (INCLUDING WEEKENDS)

SALARY: FROM $36.84/HOUR TO $50.24/HOUR

Pay rate, benefits and other terms and conditions are as per the OPSEU 662 Collective Agreement

Diagnostic Imaging refers to several different technologies that use highly specialized equipment to quickly and accurately image the human body in order to diagnose, monitor or treat medical conditions. Each type of technology gives different information about the area of the body being studied or treated. These tests are performed by skilled technologists with specialized training. The Diagnostic Imaging Department at the NBRHC consists of, X-ray, Computed Tomography, Ultrasound, Nuclear Medicine, Bone Mineral Density, Echocardiography, Mammography, Ontario Breast Screening and MRI with support services such as Picture Archiving and Communication Systems delivering images instantly to our physicians.

QUALIFICATIONS

Certification/Experience/Knowledge:
Member of the College of Medical Radiation and Imaging Technologists of Ontario required
BLS-HCP certification required
Certified C.A.M.R.T. is an asset
Strong organizational skills required
Multi-Modality training preferred
Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with all members of the health team required
Non-Violent Crisis Intervention required (training delivered by Health Centre upon hire)
Knowledge of Meditech System preferred

Ability to work in a fast paced, high stress environment
Demonstrated ability to deal effectively with a variety of client groups to ensure patient focused care delivery
Demonstrated commitment to professional development
Ability to use a variety of computer applications
Good attendance and work record required
Must demonstrate commitment to ensure your safety, the safety of fellow workers, patients, volunteers, and visitors
Must support and contribute to a culture of safety and prevention of adverse health events in this organization
Bilingualism (English/French) is an asset
