About the Role

The Maintenance Junior Associate - Growing Lines is an entry-level role focused on keeping our automated cultivation systems running smoothly. Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, this role is ideal for someone with a strong work ethic, mechanical curiosity, and willingness to work in a hands-on, physically active environment.

A major responsibility of this role is performing preventative maintenance tasks on the growing lines, such as greasing, adjusting, and inspecting moving components. Much of this work takes place underneath the crop lines in tight, crowded spaces and requires agility and attention to detail. This is a great opportunity to gain experience working with state-of-the-art automation in a controlled environment agriculture setting.

Key Responsibilities

Perform daily and scheduled preventative maintenance tasks on greenhouse growing lines, including greasing, tightening, adjusting, and inspecting moving parts
Work in tight and crowded spaces beneath crops to access components of the cultivation system
Assist senior maintenance team members with troubleshooting and minor mechanical repairs
Follow established maintenance procedures and adhere to all safety protocols
Report signs of wear, damage, or unusual equipment behavior to the Maintenance Manager
Support the reliability and uptime of growing lines by ensuring all systems run efficiently
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
Participate in training and technical development activities
Assist with additional facility upkeep tasks as needed

Candidate Profile

Must-haves:

0-2 years of experience in a mechanical, maintenance, or facilities support role
Willingness to perform physically demanding tasks and work in tight spaces
Basic mechanical aptitude and a desire to grow technical skills
Ability to follow detailed instructions and complete checklists thoroughly
Reliable, safety-minded, and team-oriented

Nice-to-haves:

Experience in a greenhouse, warehouse, or production environment
Familiarity with tools and greasing or adjusting mechanical parts
Interest in pursuing a long-term career in maintenance or automation

Physical Demands

Frequent kneeling, crouching, and crawling in confined spaces
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand or walk for prolonged periods (75%+ of the workday)
Comfortable working in a temperature-controlled ( 2 C or 35 F), high-noise environment
