West Horizon Contracting is located in Smithers, BC, we are currently seeking a versatile Combo Operator with a combination of Class 1 driving experience and proficiency in operating heavy equipment, particularly excavator experience .
(Tandem dump with 16 ton exc on tag trailer)

The daily responsibilities of this role include maintaining and operating the truck and/or equipment while ensuring its safety and compliance with environmental regulations.

In addition to adhering to safety protocols and completing checklists, time cards, and ticket submissions, the operator must also conduct regular maintenance inspections and promptly notify relevant personnel of any service or repair requirements.

Work locations are projects across the province, but we focus on Northern BC.

Annually the construction season work starts late April and early May but varies depending on spring conditions and work usually concludes in early November. However this position has the option to continue on through the winter to haul logs.

Our ideal candidate holds a valid Class 1 Driver's License with a proven record of at least five years of experience, with significant heavy equipment operating experience. As well as, good communication skills, the ability to work well with others, and follow instructions, as well as good judgment in high-pressure situations, are vital to excel in this fast-paced, high-production environment.

This position is intended for work in the Smithers and surrounding area but may require working away from home during the week from time to time.
The willingness to work 12 hour days Monday to Friday and some occasional weekends, when required is a must.

Please note, this position is open to Canadian residents only and suited for person planning to relocate within a daily commute distance from Smithers.

Compensation will be based on the candidate's skills and experience level.
