As a member of the Operations Department and reporting to the Operations Manager, the _ Greenhouse Supervisor _is critical to operational success and maintaining all operational requirements in accordance with Health Canada Regulations. It is a vital role to ensure that crop work and labour targets are met, while adequately supervising the work force within the greenhouses. The Greenhouse Supervisor must be detail oriented, and a self-starter that can work with a diverse team of professionals.
The _ Greenhouse Supervisor _ works in a dynamic team environment alongside the Operations Manager, Growers, General Labourers, Temporary Foreign Workers, Human Resources, and the Quality/Regulatory Affairs team to ensure production and other processes within the greenhouse operation are running efficiently and effectively. The ideal candidate must be highly motivated, energetic, and able to work at a fast pace.
Job Duties:
Supervising all crop work completed in the greenhouse areas (eg. Pruning, Deleafing, Harvest, etc.)
Coaching and training of employees on all crop work tasks
Scheduling of labour hours in accordance with crop schedule requirements
Verifying and documenting all changeover requirements for either a line clearance or greenhouse crop changeover
Tracking of Key Performance Indicators to ensure targets are being met
Monitoring crop conditions/plant health and reporting any concerns to the Operations Manager or Growers
Planning, delegating, motivating and leading the teams to improve performance and quality, while ensuring work is done efficiently, correctly and up to quality standards
Collaborating with the Operations Department, Grow Department, Quality/Regulatory Affairs Department, Human Resources Department and Scheduling team to ensure all policies, procedures, and requirements to obtain a quality crop are followed.
Approving Work Order completion as they are entered into the ERP
Ensuring cleanliness and mechanical upkeep of greenhouse equipment is maintained
Data management using the ERP system for scheduling, work orders and labour tracking
Ensuring all company health and safety policies, procedures and standards are adhered to
Maintaining confidentiality of all proprietary information, as well as other company data, including personnel information
Monitoring and reporting maintenance needs to the Operations Manager and Maintenance Department or performing minor repairs as needed.
Providing feedback, performance reviews and if necessary; apply corrective action processes for non-compliances
Adhere to all Health Canada regulations as it relates to Cannabis
Other duties as required
Requirements:
Supervisor experience within greenhouse operations
ERP experience an asset
Computer literate
Excellent oral communication skills
Attention to detail
Must be a team player
Must be flexible with ability to work weekends and holidays as required.
Able to work in varying temperatures
Successful candidate will be able to maintain a fun, innovative, empowering culture and work environment
