About the role:
The Supply Chain Planner is essential to optimize the productivity and efficiency of the end-to-end supply chain, from terminals to customers, while optimizing rail & trucking resources. In this role, the Supply Chain Planner is responsible to analyze the supply chain performance while managing inventories against forever changing demands, global & regulatory markets. The roles involves coordinating with suppliers, logistics commercial and terminal operations to ensure that all parts of the supply chain work together effectively and meet customer expectations while controlling costs and maintaining operational efficiency.
Key activities:
Develops scheduling of in-transit supply to all terminals - truck and rail.
Manage inventory positions across all products, storage facilities and in-transit movements.
Liaise with 3rd party terminals to develop daily/weekly operating parameters and ensure Greenergy interests are represented.
Develop and execute contingency plans to account for supply disruptions.
Identify opportunities to streamline the supply chain and communicate cost effective solutions within supply chain.
Leverage Geometrix and other technology to manage transportation to terminals and customers, selecting best methods to minimize costs and delivery times.
Negotiate rail/trucking rates and management of agreements with third parties.
Provide business support to Trading, Commercial, Risk, Stock, and Compliance teams to create coordinated plans for business growth.
Track, evaluate and communicate KPI's on supply contracts, railway and terminal performance to provide input into management reporting in support of data-driven decisions.
Resolve customer complaints by investigation problems, developing solutions, preparing reports and making recommendations to management.
Interact and communicate with external carriers on front-line issues to ensure the best possible customer service is provided timely.
Prospect and cultivate new carrier leads to establish transportation capacity.
Grow and develop Greenergy's carrier base with partners that meet or exceed our criteria and compliance standards.
Build sustainable relationships of trust through open and interactive communication.
Ensure data integrity while complying, tracking, managing and completing the orders.
Forward supply planning to ensure customer demands are met.
Work closely with carriers and Custom Brokers to ensure cross border movements follow proper process and documentation.
Well informed and knowledgeable on insurance requirements and maintain insurance certificates of third parties.
Act as contributor to project work as required.
Act as an ambassador for Process Integrity and Health and Safety culture and initiatives.
Provide after-hours support to supply chain needs.
Skills/attributes desired:
Outstanding communication skills in both written and spoken format.
Self starter with proactive mindset.
Problem solver willing to adapt and overcome obstacles.
Degree level educated or equivalent experience.
Oil & Gas industry experience not required but considered an asset.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with strong attention to detail.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word and Power Point.
Ability to multi-task and prioritize work items with minimum direction.
Builds internal and external networks to enhance effectiveness and shared knowledge.
Ability to work unsupervised in an individual or team setting.
Exhibits a drive to learn more about the business and industry.
This role requires after-hours business support as required (Laptop and cell phone provided).
