Position Summary
The LiDAR Data Processing Specialist will be responsible for post-processing airborne and terrestrial LiDAR data, generating digital models and maps, and preparing accurate, client-ready CAD outputs. This role requires advanced proficiency in 3D data processing, geospatial software, and a comprehensive understanding of LiDAR workflows from collection to final deliverable.

Key Responsibilities

Process and classify raw LiDAR point cloud data (e.g., ground, vegetation, structures)
Generate Digital Elevation Models (DEMs), Digital Terrain Models (DTMs), and contours
Convert LiDAR data into CAD formats (e.g., DWG, DXF, Civil 3D)
Ensure accuracy, quality control, and consistency of data products
Collaborate with drone operators, survey teams, and GIS/CAD drafters
Manage large datasets and maintain organized digital workflows
Produce technical documentation and metadata as needed

Required Qualifications

5+ years of experience in LiDAR data processing or a related geospatial role
Proficiency in software such as LAStools, Global Mapper, TerraScan, CloudCompare, ReCap, Civil 3D, AutoCAD
Strong understanding of coordinate systems, georeferencing, and elevation modeling
Experience integrating LiDAR data with CAD and GIS platforms
Ability to work independently and manage complex projects
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with drone-based LiDAR systems
Familiarity with automation or machine learning in LiDAR workflows
Knowledge of land surveying practices and standards
