Summary

The Master Scheduler is a strategic leadership role responsible for driving the overall production planning process and leading a team of schedulers. This role ensures alignment between forecasted demand, open production orders, and manufacturing capacity. The Master Scheduler acts as the central communication hub between planning, operations, and customer service, proactively managing late lines, line stops, and production risks. This position plays a critical role in ensuring on-time delivery performance and production efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead and mentor a team of production schedulers to ensure consistent execution of production plans.
Collaborate with demand planning, operations, and supply chain teams to align production schedules with business goals.
Monitor and escalate late lines, line stops, and material shortages, ensuring timely resolution through cross-functional coordination.
Analyze production performance and adjust schedules to optimize throughput and minimize downtime.
Communicate schedule changes, risks, and recovery plans to stakeholders including planning, operations, PMO, and customer service.
Ensure accurate and timely updates in ERP systems and planning tools.
Drive continuous improvement in scheduling processes, tools, and team capabilities.
Support executive reporting and planning reviews with data-driven insights and schedule performance metrics.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations, Engineering, or a related field.
5+ years of experience in production scheduling or planning, with at least 2 years in a leadership or coordination role.
Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, capacity planning, and MRP/ERP systems (Microsoft Dynamics AX preferred).
Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage complex scheduling challenges.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, Power Query, dashboards).
Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
