The Role:
Work 1:1 with autistic children in therapy-based play sessions
Looking for individuals ready to make a 1+ year commitment to both their work schedule and ongoing internal training as part of their professional development
Follow child-led goals in social, emotional, or communication development
Receive ongoing coaching and supervision with our in-clinic full time program/therapy support coach.
Paid training time
Most sessions run between 9 AM - 6 PM on weekdays (must be available at least 4 days per week; some after-school-only roles available)

Important Notes:
This is supplemental income . Session availability can fluctuate based on our learners' family schedules.
Must be able to lift up to 50lbs , sit on the floor, be active and handle dysregulation with calmness and maturity, and compassion.
Reliable transportation required (we operate across Chilliwack and nearby communities)
This role is in-clinic as well as in some learners' homes and daycares locally.

Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated, compassionate, and upbeat Behaviour Interventionist (Mentor) to join our team. In this role, you will provide one-on-one therapeutic services to children and teens with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Your work will focus on mental health and wellness approaches, emphasizing co-regulation and individualized care. Sessions will take place at our centre in the downtown Chilliwack 1881 District, during community outings, or at the child's home.
Key Responsibilities:
One-on-One Therapy: Provide personalized therapeutic services to children and teens with ASD, focusing on their mental health and wellness.
Co-Regulation: Implement co-regulation techniques to help children manage their emotions and behaviours effectively.
Flexible Scheduling: Offer therapy sessions within the flexible hours of 8 AM to 6 PM, based on client needs and your availability.
Client Support: Ensure reliability and consistency in schedules to prevent disruptions in routines crucial for our clients.
Charting and Documentation: Accurately chart and document client progress using the Jane app.
Community Integration: Facilitate therapy during community outings to help children generalize skills in different settings.
Home Visits: Conduct therapy sessions at the child's home when required.
Collaborative Approach: Work collaboratively with parents, caregivers, and other professionals such as Behaviour Consultants (BC), Relationship Development Intervention (RDI) Specialists, Occupational Therapists (OT) and Speach-Language Pathologists (SLP) to provide comprehensive support.
Qualifications:
Educational Background: Preferably a degree or diploma in psychology, special education, applied behaviour analysis, or a related field.
Experience: Previous experience working with children and teens with ASD is highly desirable.
Skills and Attributes:

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Reliability and a strong sense of responsibility.
Transportation: Must have a reliable vehicle and a valid driver's license.
Criminal Record Check: Must pass a criminal record check.
Additional Information:
Work Hours: Flexible daytime hours between 9 AM and 6 PM.
Income: This position can be considered supplementary income based on your availability.
