As a Mechanical Project Coordinator at Sure-Form Contracting Ltd., you will work closely with the project management team and our in-house fabrication facility to help fulfill project and company objectives, with a strong focus on quality, execution, and delivery.
The Mechanical Project Manager Role
In this role, you will be responsible for coordinating various mechanical and multi-discipline construction activities. Your duties will include:
Procurement and Submittals:
Assist project managers and project team with procurement of mechanical materials and components
Support preparation and submission of shop drawings and technical submittals
Estimating Support:
Assist the estimating team with quantity take-offs and mechanical scope estimates
Quality Assurance / Quality Control (QA/QC):
Develop, implement, and maintain QA/QC procedures and Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs) across all project phases
Perform inspections and audits to verify compliance with specifications, industry standards, and regulatory codes
Identify non-conformances and support resolution, while maintaining accurate QA/QC records
Collaborate with clients and project teams to address quality concerns
Piping Fabrication Scheduling:
Create and manage detailed schedules for piping fabrication aligned with overall project timelines
Coordinate procurement, fabrication, and construction teams to optimize efficiency and meet deadlines
Monitor fabrication progress and adjust schedules as required
Piping Fabrication QA/QC:
Oversee inspections and testing to ensure compliance with material and fabrication standards
Verify adherence to applicable codes, client specifications, and design drawings
Support issue resolution in collaboration with shop personnel and project stakeholders
Qualifications
We are seeking individuals who are adaptable, solutions-oriented, and eager to learn. Preference will be given to candidates with a proactive approach and willingness to grow across multiple project disciplines.
Qualifications include:
2-5 years of experience in a mechanical project coordination or management role (required)
Diploma in Mechanical Engineering Technology or equivalent (required)
Experience in process mechanical coordination or management within a multi-discipline construction environment
Strong knowledge of QA/QC processes, piping systems, and fabrication standards
Familiarity with industry codes (ASME, ABSA, CWB, API, etc.); certifications considered an asset
Proficiency with technical drawings, specifications, and fabrication documentation
Experience with SpoolFab (Acorn Pipe) considered a strong asset
Exposure to drafting and/or fabrication QA/QC considered a significant advantage
Strong communication and organizational skills
Proficiency in pipe fabrication software
