The Evergreens Foundation is actively searching for a dynamic and motivated ( Temporary) General Cook to join our team in Hinton, Alberta .

Key Responsibilities

Reporting to the Chef de Partie, duties include, but are not limited to:

Preparing meals i.e., stocks, soups, salads, sauces, meats, starches, vegetables, proteins, and desserts.
Following prepared menus such as special diets and ensuring a clean and safe working environment.
Adhere to and enforce all appropriate workplace regulations, compliances, and legislation regarding health and safety, food preparation standards, and company policies and procedures.
Ensure all kitchen equipment and tools are being used safely and according to provided direction.
Ensure food is handled, stored, and cooked according to health and safety standards, Safe Food Handling and regulated temperature guidelines.
Be continually aware of, and maintain, the highest standards of professionalism by following the company dress code and/or wearing the company uniform.
Ensure a clean and safe working environment, and actively participate in health and safety initiatives.
Protect the health and safety of others by adopting safe work practices and reporting unsafe conditions immediately.

Ideal Candidate

2 years of experience with volume food preparation.
Ability to prioritize and manage conflicting demands.
Ability to work individually as well as part of a team.
Demonstrated time management skills.
Strong organizational and communication skills.
Maintain a professional appearance, demeanor and attitude at all times.
Ability to maintain patient and tactful composure in a fast-paced environment.

This position will work a maximum shift of 9.5 hours with four on four off.

NOTE: The successful candidate must have a clear Vulnerable Sector Check. Hourly rate per the International Union of Operating Engineers, Local Union No. 955.
