Job description
Skwlax Resource Management Ltd. is seeking applicants for upcoming construction projects. Positions are field based and in region of Chase, British Columbia
Civil Pipe Layer:
Reading blueprints, specifications and technical drawings
Setting elevations and grades for roads, underground utilities and site prep
Installing civil utility components such as pipes and manholes to establish electrical, water, sanitary sewer, and storm systems.
Aligning, positioning and sealing pipes
Checking slopes using lasers or levels
Layout of pipe routes
Coordination of pipe routes in accordance to technical drawings and specifications
Communicating & coordinating with heavy equipment operators
Working in confined spaces such as trenches, manholes, etc. while following WSBC guidelines.
Assisting heavy equipment operators with equipment attachments
Operating machinery, equipment and tools such as compactors, rollers, excavators etc. x as needed to support pipe installation.
Daily involvement in safety conscious activities
Other various construction related activities.
All applicants applying for the position should have the following qualifications and experience:
2 years of civil construction experience that involved installing utility components for water, sanitary, storm, etc. systems (MANDATORY)
Experience coordinating with grade-men, equipment operators and foreman.
Experience with laser levels and locators
Experience with interpreting plans and civil/engineering drawings
Effective Communication skills (English)
Understanding of current OH&S safe work practices and regulations
Ability to work 5 days a week, 8+ hours per day.
Ability to commute to job site locations.
Valid Driver's License
Ability to work outside in various weather conditions.
Ability to work well within a team environment.
Job Type: Full-time
