Position Summary
The Parts Shipper Receiver is responsible for efficiently managing the movement of parts. This role involves receiving incoming shipments, verifying the contents against purchase orders, organizing and storing parts in the appropriate locations, and ensuring accurate and timely shipments to internal and external customers.
Specific Accountabilities
Receive incoming parts shipments, verifying the accuracy of contents against purchase orders.
Inspect received items for quality and quantity, documenting any discrepancies or damages.
Coordinate with vendors and suppliers to resolve issues related to shipments.
Organize and maintain an efficient inventory system for parts, ensuring easy accessibility and accurate tracking.
Conduct regular physical counts and reconcile with system records to identify and resolve discrepancies.
Properly label, categorize, and store parts in designated locations within the warehouse or storage area.
Prepare and package parts for outgoing shipments, ensure proper documentation, and labeling.
Coordinate with couriers to schedule pickups and deliveries and track the status of shipments.
Collaborate with other departments to fulfill orders and resolve any issues.
Communicate effectively with vendors, suppliers, and logistics partners to address inquiries and resolve discrepancies.
Maintain accurate records of all incoming and outgoing shipments, including packing slips, bills of lading, and other relevant documentation.
Qualifications
Education & Work Experience
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Must be forklift certified with ability to operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment.
Competencies and Skills
Proven experience in shipping and receiving operations.
Familiarity with inventory management software and systems.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures in a warehouse environment.
Working Conditions
The Shipper/Received will work in a shop environment and is subjected to dust, dirt, grease and noise levels ranging from moderate to loud. Will be exposed to outdoor elements (cold and heat) when moving forklifts.
