Wm Schmidt is currently seeking / has vacancy for a(n) Warehouse Supervisor - Plumbing Department

Supporting our fantastic team and amazing clients, this role will increase operational efficiency, company profitability and customer satisfaction by accurately and safely receiving and storing materials, as well as picking and packing job orders for pickup and deliveryand will report directly to the Manager, Plumbing.

The successful candidate must be skilled in the supervision, planning, assignment and reviews of the work of workers engaged in the following duties: shipping, receiving, auditing, storing, distributing, maintaining, and reporting quality or return issues related to inventories of materials, parts and products; processing purchasing transactions; coordinating production work; dispatching workers; scheduling transportation support and routes; and other such related activities.

This role will oversee and store items in an orderly and accessible manner in our warehouse, tool room, supply room and/or other area in addition to processing incoming requisitions and issuance or distribution of parts and supplies for usage. They will also advise internal users on appropriateness of parts, supplies or materials requested while ensuring compliance with policies, procedures for safety and security, standards and regulations in force and participate in their improvement.

_ Duties include but are not limited to: _
Provide leadership and direction to warehouse employees daily
Pulling, filling, packing and setting up orders for delivery or pickup
Follow any special instructions pertaining to an individual job order
Receive shipments, log into inventory, maintain inventory through audits
Report any quality or inventory discrepancy issues to the plumbing purchaser
Communicate positively at all levels of worker and management to coordinate deliveries/pick-up
Operate a forklift safely and efficiently, maintain required certification, report required maintenance and schedule for warehouse equipment
Assist in keeping warehouse and yard clean, neat, safe and operating efficiently
Process returns accurately with plumbing purchaser
Develop and implement innovative methods to dispose of dead or obsolete inventory items
Work effectively and efficiently with cross-functional teams, including those from purchasing, estimation, and the warehouse employees
Manage effectively so that the monthly cycle counts are completed in a timely and accurate manner in conjunction with plumbing purchaser
Conduct or supervise audits of facility inventory on a scheduled basis
Take on the responsibility for training employees in the process of inventory management and cycle counting
Instruct warehouse personnel when and where to return defective or non-stock items
Maintain the returned goods area in an orderly fashion
Monitor returned goods in the warehouse that have not yet been processed
Follow all established policies and safety guidelines in a drug-free workplace
Always present a neat and professional image
Assist in always keeping the facility secure and safe
Assist in training/hiring process of warehouse personnel when required
Verify data in inventory tracking software and perform routine audits to ensure accuracy.
Provide reports and qualitative data/information to management to assess predicted vs physical inventory levels.
Purchasing as required
Maintain a safe and unobstructed work area
Follow company policies and procedures
Other duties as assigned by the department manager

_ Requirements of the successful candidate: _
5+ years of industry related experience with specific focuses on warehousing and or distribution
Adequate in Microsoft Office Suite
Strong warehouse background with the ability to enforce policy, supervise a small team, and manage inventory.
Ability to forecast and manage inventory market trends.
Ability to operate a forklift and maintain applicable certifications.
Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
Strong communication skills for effective interaction with clients and team members.
A commitment to safety practices in all work environments.
Valid class 5 drivers' licence in good stead.
Positive attitude.
