_Youth Workers are responsible for administering programs for youth aged _12 _to 17 and promoting their personal, educational, and social development._

Reports To:

-Program Coordinator

- Executive Director

Minimum Requirements

- Standard CPR/First Aid is beneficial

- Able to provide a recent (no more than three month old) criminal record check

- Drivers License is required.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

The Youth Worker assumes and performs the following:

Promote effective team work between youth workers and volunteers.

Seek out new opportunities to engage youth.

Promote a positive environment for youth.

Engage youth in positive experiences.

Act as a mentor and provide emotional support to youth.

Operational Management

Work with the Program Coordinator and other staff members to ensure that personnel, client, donor and volunteer files are securely stored and confidentiality is maintained.

Program Planning and Administration

Assist the Program Coordinator in planning, organizing and running events for youth.

Be aware of and comply with Foundation policies and standards.

Assist in the planning, implementation, execution and evaluation of special projects, as appropriate.

Aid in program data collection.

Provide youth with resources and referrals to appropriate organizations, as appropriate.

Provide administrative support, as appropriate.

Supervise youth.

Financial Planning and Management

Participate in fundraising activities, as appropriate.

Community Relations and Advocacy

Establish strong relationships with youth and youth groups to grow the organization.

Work with the Program Coordinator and Executive Director/Operations Manager to establish and implement new and creative methods to promote programs, inform youth of Foundation services, and to recruit youth to Foundation programs.

Risk Management

Ensure that each youth is safe and that unsafe activities do not take place.

Comply with all risk management policies and procedures.

Record any safety incidents that occur during shift.
Inform management if other staff members, volunteers, etc. are failing to comply with policies and standards

This position would be great for a student who is looking for a part time position while furthering their Education. The main role is to act as a mentor/ role model for the youth who attend our drop in program during afternoons and weekends.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: From $18.72 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 30 per week
