Job Posting: Range Safety Officer (RSO)

Employment Type: Full Time

Schedule: Monday-Saturday

Weekend availability is required .

RPAL and 3-5 years of firearms experience is mandatory for all applicants

Range Safety Officer (RSO) - Urban Tactical Brantford (UTB) is the primary contact responsible for all activities related to the delivery of range services to customers and guests.

The RSO will provide direction, guidance and direct supervision to all individuals throughout the range experience, ensuring the safety of each guest and employee and that the customer enjoys a fun and exciting experience.

The RSO will strictly adhere to, and continuously monitor the range to maintain a safe environment while delivering exceptional customer service. In this way, the Range Safety Officer will achieve and exceed monthly sales goals by leveraging their extensive knowledge of the products and packages available, follow safety protocols, demonstrate active listening to identify customer needs, and engage in cross and upselling by presenting the appropriate products and services which meet the customer's requirements.

In addition to these responsibilities as described in the Range Safety Officer job description, the Range Safety Officer will:
Possess advanced firearms knowledge and provide leadership with all firearms safety, current laws, regulations, policies, procedures and processes
Demonstrate proficiency in maintaining / repairing firearms
Model exceptional sales and customer service skills
Assist in maintaining inventory to ensure availability of products and services
Demonstrate exceptional communication and interpersonal skills

Job Responsibilities:

Oversee and enforce all range safety rules and regulations.

Monitor shooting lanes and ensure proper use of firearms and equipment.

Provide clear instructions to participants regarding range operations and safety protocols.

Respond promptly to safety concerns, malfunctions, or emergencies.

Conduct routine inspections of the range, equipment, and facilities to identify and address potential hazards.

Offer basic firearm handling guidance to customers as needed.

Maintain a professional and approachable demeanor to ensure customer satisfaction.

Complete incident reports and maintain accurate records of range activities.

Qualifications:

PAL/RPAL is mandatory for all applicants

Minimum 3-5 years firearms experience

Strong knowledge of firearms, ammunition, and range safety procedures.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to remain calm and decisive under pressure.

First aid and AED certification.

Previous experience in a similar role.

Work Environment:

Indoor shooting range environment.

Exposure to firearm noise
