Job description
Prostar is a growing company and we're seeking a candidate for the Carpentry /Fencing Division, as well as for one of our other divisions, including:
building envelope restoration
interior commercial renovation
commercial painting
As a Project Manager and Estimator, you'll be responsible for creating estimates, preparing bids for construction projects and leading a team of professionals to successfully complete those projects.

Responsibilities
- Providing a professional service that gets recommended to others
- Developing estimates, identifying cost breakdowns, clarifications and job scope details
- Monitoring project schedules, budgets and work progress
- Leading a strong effective team that recognizes the vision of our company and respects your leadership
- Ensuring the project is in compliance with safety plans and regulations
- Independently driving production while problem solving any unique challenges that may arise
- Working with clients and giving accurate quotes that match their needs
- Maintaining excellent relationships with all stakeholders
- Setting and reviewing weekly and monthly goals and demonstrating the tenacity it takes to not only hit these goals but to surpass them

Requirements
Education and extensive work experience in construction is required, including one or more of the following:
Education in project management, construction management and/or STEM fields such as civil engineering, architecture, Building Science, etc. Examples include: B. Eng, BS, BA Sc., BArch, Engineering-in-training registration or eligibility, Bachelor of Applied Design in Interior Design
experience/education in construction, through past employment as a project manager, project coordination, sites supervisor, foreman, general contractor, builder or engineering firm
Past construction trades experience is an asset, either in management or hands-on trades work in areas such as: carpentry, painting, restoration, concrete work, plumbing, electrical, etc.
Strong math skills and generally high precision with numbers is essential
Advanced level proficiency with software, including MS Office suite (Excel, Outlook, Word etc.). Must be confident with basic MS Excel functions/formulas.
Proficiency in project management and/or design software, such as MS Project, ProCore, Bluebeam, Revit, etc.
A valid BC driver's license required - in order to travel to client locations throughout Greater Vancouver and the Fraser Valley
Must be fluent in English and have at least 1 year of work experience in Vancouver, BC. Candidates with no recent work experience in Greater Vancouver will not be considered
Exceptional oral and written communication skills
Cold calling or new direct marketing is not required - we have a business development team to help generate opportunities. However, managing ongoing relationships with clients is key!
Compensation
Salary and Commission: $95,000.00-$120,000.00 in the first year.
$130,000 to $200,000 and above is attainable thanks to profit sharing commission structure on projects of increasing value.
