_ BANQUET, EVENT & RESTAURANT MANAGER _
The Sawmill Restaurant Group's Banquet, Event & Restaurant Manager plays an integral part in ensuring our guests receive flawless, proactive and engaged services thus producing memorable experiences in relation to our brand and the Food and Beverage industry
The Banquet, Event & Restaurant Manager is the ambassador for all activations and functions. You will efficiently deliver and execute exceptional experiences in all you do within this distinctive food and beverage facility that features a 250-seat lounge & patio, 150-seat dining room, 100-seat banquet room, a corporate boardroom and 4 private banquet & event room areas.
Under guidance of the General Manager the Banquet & Event Manager is responsible for all aspects of banquet & events.
Sales & revenue generation
Meeting or exceeding sales and revenue targets
Crafting & negotiating contracts
Collaborating with clients to secure event bookings
Manage and actively execute internal banquet & catering events
Develop & maintain strong client relationships with existing and new guests
The Restaurant Manager is responsible for assisting the General Manager with the daily operation of food and beverage restaurant service including:
Operational management and day-to-day operations with a robust communication focus
Financial management including all cost controls
Team management including recruiting, training, retaining and leading team members
Customer and team member service and satisfaction
_ BANQUET & EVENT MANAGER POSITION REQUIREMENTS _
Minimum 2 years of event, conference and group sales experience
Diploma/Degree in Hospitality or Event management (preferred)
Minimum 2 years of restaurant operations experience
Strong social network within the Edmonton and Alberta region
Extensive knowledge of OH&S, WCB, Alberta Human Rights, Alberta Employment Standards, AHS and AGLC
Ability to multi-task and prioritize to successfully manage events
Expectation to respond to client and supplier inquiries within 24 business hours
Healthy and interactive personality with a passion for people, communication & guest service
Confident in speaking in public groups and with guests
_ BANQUET & EVENT MANAGER RELATED RESPONSIBILITIES _
Maintains the highest level of professionalism, courtesy and respect towards all team members, vendor partners and guests
Is resourceful and continues to learn within the Food and Beverage industry
Possesses an entrepreneurial appreciation for business and its requirement for consistent marketplace positioning and growth
Effectively assesses, assists to recruit, motivate and develop all banquet & event team members
Responsible for ensuring the banquet & event team are being efficiently lead, directed, trained and coordinated pertaining to all event activities
Ability to prioritize, multi-task and be highly organized with a keen attention to detail
Ability to remain positive physically and mentally under pressure
Ability to attract, grow and maintain a positive and capable banquet & event team
Ability to identify, motivate, lead and work effectively with customers and team members needs
Maintain the highest level of professionalism, courtesy and respect to all individuals and personnel
Promote and maintain an enthusiastic and motivated work ethic and attitude

Builds a knowledgeable, professional, creative and flexible team of hospitality professionals through continued communication and focused direction
Creates an environment and culture whereby training is recognized as an employee benefit and method of improving employee morale and enhancing employee skills
Safeguards and maintains compliance with all Provincial and National Food & Safety Regulations and boards of government including Alberta Employment Standards, WHIMIS, WCB, OH&S and AHS
Demonstrates positive and effective communication, leadership skills (oral and written) and computer related skills
Present and participates in weekly management meetings contributing to agenda topics of information, concern or praise and update of weekly banquet & event team goals and general information.
Maintains and submits accurate and correct administrative reports at all levels
Perform with willingness any other related duties or special projects as required or directed by the senior leadership team

Pay: $65,000.00-$75,000.00 per year
