About the Role:
As a Baker, you'll support daily production across a variety of areas, from European-style pastries to muffins, cookies, bars, loaves, gluten-free offerings, and more. You'll need strong foundational skills, a solid sense of timing and organization, and the flexibility to support where needed most. This role is perfect for someone who's looking to bring their skills into a collaborative, mission-driven kitchen.
Key Responsibilities:
Production & Baking
Prepare, bake, and finish a variety of sweet and savoury items, from cakes and cookies to scones and loaves.
Follow established recipes and production schedules while maintaining consistent quality.
Take initiative with multiple baking tasks and switch roles as needed throughout the day.
Bring knowledge of traditional baking techniques, especially European-style methods.
Quality & Consistency
Uphold our standards for flavour, texture, freshness, and presentation.
Portion and finish baked goods with care and attention to detail.
Communicate any recipe or process concerns to the Bakery Lead or Kitchen Manager.
Kitchen Cleanliness & Food Safety
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workstation throughout your shift.
Follow Food Safe practices for storage, sanitation, and labeling.
Use ingredients efficiently and support our goal of minimizing waste.
Team Collaboration
Work closely with bakers, cooks, and front-of-house staff to meet daily needs.
Be adaptable to changing priorities, special orders, or production shifts.
Help build a positive, respectful kitchen culture through strong communication and teamwork.
What We're Looking For:
Minimum 2+ years of professional baking experience in a kitchen or bakery
Broad skill set with ability to jump into various baking roles
Strong understanding of ingredient function, mixing, baking times, and finishing techniques
Food Safe Level 1 (preferred)
Ability to work early mornings and stand for long periods
Positive, reliable, and open to learning - we value attitude as much as skill

Baking: 5 years (preferred)
