Project Coordinator (Disaster Restoration)
We're seeking an experienced Project Coordinator with a strong background in disaster restoration. In this role, you'll help guide large loss projects from initial emergency response to rebuild, helping homeowners, property managers, and businesses navigate the impact of fires, floods, severe weather, and other disasters.
You'll work alongside one of our top Senior Project Managers to execute large-scale restoration projects, ensuring operations run smoothly and results meet Woodhouse Restoration's high standards. Your organizational skills, attention to detail, and commitment to quality will make a meaningful impact on the lives of those we serve.
As a Disaster Restoration Project Coordinator, you will be responsible for:
Project Coordination
Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, insurance adjusters, and other stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
Conduct site assessments of restoration projects, including damage evaluation and estimation of required resources.
Develop and execute project plans, outlining timelines, deliverables, and key milestones.
Coordinate and schedule multiple restoration activities, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure project progress and completion according to established deadlines and profitability.
Regularly monitor project status, identify potential risks or delays, and implement mitigation strategies as necessary.
Build and maintain a network of reliable subcontractors
Participate in the after-hours emergency response team and be available during peak volume or catastrophic events
Complete material take-offs and coordinate timely, cost-effective procurement of required materials
Apply for building permits for large projects and work with building officials during the repair process.
Lead the construction team, including hiring, mentoring, and managing performance and discipline as needed
Documentation and Reporting
Prepare and distribute work orders, contracts, change orders, and insurance claims documentation.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date project files in the job management system at all times.
Generate and provide regular progress reports to clients, insurance adjusters, and other relevant stakeholders.
Ensure all project-related documentation complies with industry regulations, insurance requirements, and company standards.
Quality Assurance and Compliance
Ensure that restoration activities adhere to industry standards and complies with relevant government regulations including the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
Conduct regular site inspections to assess the quality of workmanship and adherence to project specifications.
Collaborate with internal quality assurance teams to address any deficiencies or non-compliance issues promptly.
Team Collaboration
Collaborate with internal teams, including field staff, estimators, project managers, and administrative staff, to facilitate seamless project execution.
Provide guidance and support to on-site teams during restoration projects, addressing any challenges or concerns that may arise.
Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, promoting effective communication and teamwork.
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
Experience: Minimum 3+ years of proven success in the construction industry, with experience in site supervision or construction management.
Project Scope: Hands-on experience across residential, commercial, and multi-unit dwelling projects.
Industry Knowledge: Understanding of environmental remediation and its application within construction projects.
Team Collaboration: Ability to work cooperatively and effectively with others to set goals, resolve problems, and support organizational success.
Ethical Standards: Strong understanding of ethical behavior and business practices aligned with organizational values.
Tech Proficiency: Advanced skills in Microsoft Office 365 and familiarity with job management and restoration software, or a proven ability to learn new systems quickly.
