As an Accounting Assistant with PPG Canada, you will help manage elements of financial reporting, audits, tax compliance, and treasury operations. Your role will ensure the accuracy and timeliness of financial statements, lead the audit process, handle tax filings, and oversee key accounting functions such as AR, AP, GL, and month-end close activities. You'll also manage cash flow and liquidity, ensuring the company's financial stability.

Responsibilities:

Financial and Operational support: Reconcile and review daily financial packages prepared by the operations team. Scan and organize all financial documents.
Cash Management: Handle all cash/cheque deposits and banking activities, ensuring accurate and timely record keeping.
Accounting Oversight: Support daily accounting tasks, including Accounts Receivable (AR), Accounts Payable (AP), and General Ledger (GL) to ensure timely and accurate transaction recording.
Month-End Close: Assist with month-end entries and reconciliations to ensure financial data is complete and accurate.
Financial Analysis: Conduct variance analysis and provide insights on financial performance to senior management.
Process Improvement: Drive continuous improvements in accounting, reporting, and treasury processes to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and compliance.
Vendor and Partner Support (ad hoc): Manage billing uploads on partner portals and ensure timely communication and support.

Qualifications

Minimum 5 years of finance/accounting experience, preferably from the Aviation or Food & Beverage industries.
CPA designation in progress or relevant finance certification.
Strong analytical skills; proficiency in data analysis tools is a plus.
Self-motivated, independent, proactive, and able to deliver quality results under tight schedules.
Good problem-solving, communication, leadership & negotiation skills.
Fluency in English and French (spoken and written) is required.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including advanced skills in Outlook, Word and Excel is a must.

Pay: $48,000.00-$60,000.00 per year
