LAURION is seeking a highly specialized and field-proven geoscientist to join our technical team in support of mineral exploration in the Onaman-Tashota Archean greenstone belt of northwestern Ontario. The ideal candidate will have direct field experience in mapping, structural interpretation, core handling, and geospatial documentation, and must be prepared to work in remote field conditions for extended periods. Full-time hours during active field rotation periods; role is based on a rotational schedule and is not year-round Key Responsibilities: Conduct detailed geological mapping in Archean greenstone terranes, with particular emphasis on the Onaman-Tashota belt Use Brunton compass for measuring and interpreting structural features and calculating vein orientation and true width Operate a Juniper Systems Mesa Tablet to log field and sample data on-site Collect, describe, and record grab, channel, and soil samples, and enter data into Mesa software Perform core geotechnical logging, including RQD, recovery, and structure; describe lithologies and mineralization; and record all data using GeoticLog Photograph drill core wet and dry for QA/QC and documentation Catalogue, label, transport, and shelve drill core in accordance with field protocols Lift and move core boxes (weight 4550 lbs) regularly throughout the workday Work with GeoticLog, Imago, QGIS, ArcGIS, and Geoscience Analyst software for data analysis and mapping Draft technical assessment reports for submission to the Ontario Ministry of Mines Assist in the preparation of Exploration Plans and Permits, including map production and regulatory compliance Interpret geochemical datasets, develop targeting vectors, and generate shapefiles for GIS applications Must be self-motivated, organized, and capable of working independently in remote settings Required Qualifications: Bachelors degree in Geology, Earth Sciences, or equivalent. Minimum 25 years of field experience in Archean terranes, preferably in the Beardmore-Geraldton or Onaman-Tashota region. Proven experience with core logging and structural analysis. Proficiency in geospatial and geological software, including GeoticLog, Leapfrog Geo, Imago, QGIS, ArcGIS, and Geoscience Analyst. Must possess a valid drivers license and be comfortable operating in remote areas Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds (e.g., core boxes) and working in varied terrain and weather conditions. Strong technical English writing skills, including report drafting and documentation for regulatory agencies Familiarity with Ontario exploration regulations and permitting processes is a strong asset. Ability to accurately orient and log core, including completing detailed quick logs immediately upon core retrieval to capture structural and lithological features in real time. Proven ability to identify, measure, and interpret shear zones, folding, and vein arrays within Archean Greenstone terranes. Experience using a goniometer or similar core orientation tools (e.g., digital inclinometer or core orientation frame) in a core logging facility to measure and calculate alpha/beta angles for vein and fabric analysis. Ability to compile and interpret multi-element geochemical datasets to identify mineralization vectors. Knowledge of channel saw use for continuous sampling and safe handling in the field Direct experience preparing and submitting Exploration Plans and Exploration Permit applications under Ontarios Mining Act, including digital maps creation to MNDM standards in ArcGIS of QGIS. Proficiency in photographing drill core under standardized lighting and moisture conditions for QA/QC, ensuring compliance with NI 43-101 documentation requirements Proficiency in conducting specific gravity testing of drill core, including accurate sample preparation, measurement, and data recording to industry standard. Experience working under OHSA Part 7 (Mines and Mining Plants) regulations and in remote exploration camps with limited logistical support Ability to integrate datasets from GeoticLog, Imago, QGIS, ArcGIS, and Geoscience Analyst into a unified exploration database Working Conditions: Field-based role with rotational shifts (e.g., 3 weeks on / 1 week off) Work is conducted in remote northern Ontario, with accommodation and travel provided Exposure to rugged terrain, insects, weather extremes, and long hours Combination of field mapping, physical work, digital reporting, and GIS documentation How to Apply: Please submit your resume and cover letter to:
