MechPhysio is a well-established, multi-disciplinary clinic in Thornhill seeking an enthusiastic and experienced or New Grad Certified Athletic Therapist.
As an Athletic Therapist, you will play a crucial role in assessing, treating, and rehabilitating clients to help them reach their full potential and prevent injuries from age-related conditions and sports.
You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive care.
Our caseload includes sports injuries, motor vehicle accidents (MVAs), concussion management, post-surgical rehabilitation, and common daily life injuries. We serve clients of all ages and backgrounds, and you will have clients ready to see you immediately!
We are looking for:
Experience in rehab and extensive knowledge of exercise prescription for a variety of ages, injuries and abilities.
Impeccable bedside manner and professionalism.
Compassionate and firm attitude.
Positive attitude towards 'challenging' patients.
Strong writing and speech skills (descriptive as needed)
Strong manual skills is an asset (will be component in 2nd interview)
An ability to work with up to 2 people within an hour in the gym.
Willing to be trained in other forms of rehab ie. Mckenzie method, gait analysis, orthotic fitting.
Responsibilities:
Identifying patient goals - from Playing with Grandkids to Running a Half!
Education to patient about injury, recovery and prevention
Ensuring that clients adhere to realistic treatment plan
Rehab exercises for common MSK conditions ie. Low back, neck pain, rotator cuff, knee - Training provided!
Types of Treatments:
Joint mobilizations.
Soft Tissue/massage treatments within the treatment.
Following instructions/guidance from experienced physiotherapist
Independently creating strength programs and program cards for exercises.
Passive stretching on patients - muscles and joints.
Follow-up and scheduling new and existing clients using our schedule software(s).
Following up with patients that haven't been in for treatment.
Qualifications and Skills:
Certified Athletic Therapist that have maintained status with the Canadian Athletic Therapists Association.
Past experience in out-patient clinic and athletes (preferably 1-2 years of experience)
New Grads welcome.
