Protec Dental Laboratories is a full-service dental laboratory located in Olympic Village area. We are seeking a dynamic individual to join our team in a Ceramist/Stain & Glaze role. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented professional, exceling in color matching, staining, glazing, and surface texturing, with strong knowledge of ceramics and zirconia. Precision, artistry, and teamwork are essential to ensure high-quality results and patient satisfaction.
The Ceramist, Stain/Glaze Technician will report to the Crown & Bridge Lab Manager.
Duties and responsibilities
Construct dental prosthetics including crowns, bridges, veneers, inlays and onlays using various material such as porcelain, lithium discilate and metal alloys.
Colour Matching and Staining dental restorations to ensure natural and aesthetically pleasing appearance.
Custom Shading (anterior ceramist only) patient's natural teeth, shape, color and size
Layering porcelain to create lifelike dental restorations with the appropriate translucency, texture and shape.
Ensure that crowns fit accurately on the dental model to guarantee a precise fit.
Trim and refine the margins of dental restorations to ensure a perfect seal and fit.
Contour and sculp restoration to replicate the natural anatomy and functions of the patient's teeth.
Read and follow doctor's prescriptions.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent
Certification from an accredited dental technology program is preferred.
A minimum of 3 -5 years or more of experience with a focus in ceramics.
Proficient in various techniques such as waxing, casting, pressing ceramic layering and contouring anatomy.
Effective communication skills and the ability to read, write and speak English
Attention to detail for color and form to create aesthetic and natural looking dental restorations.
Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues that arise during the fabrication process.
Familiarity with dental Cad/Cam software and digital dentistry techniques considered an asset.

Job Type
Full-time Monday to Friday during business hours (8:00am-5:00pm).
The hourly rate will be determined based on experience.
After successfully passing probation, the technician will work on a unit pay system.
