For over 20 years, Larga Kivalliq has been operating a medical boarding home for patients and their escorts from Nunavut. Our services include accommodation, meals, ground transportation to and from the airport and medical appointments, and recreation services.
_ Position Overview _
The Cultural Services Manager is pivotal in enriching client experiences by organizing events and cultural programs. They lead Cultural Awareness training for staff and partners and oversee client-focused events like holidays and game nights. This role collaborates closely with all departments, gathering client feedback to maintain welcoming, responsive, and culturally informed services.
_ Roles & Responsibilities _
Lead, mentor, and manage the Language and Programs Coordinators and Central Relief employees to ensure seamless operations and exceptional guest experiences.
Provide suggestions on operational strategies for improving services offered by understanding guest expectations and cultural needs.
Oversee the development and implementation of Cultural Awareness training programs for Larga Kivalliq employees and contracted workers, including property management and security personnel.
Assist the Director of Programs with client events, including holiday parties, game nights, and movie nights.
Work closely with all departments to ensure that guests' needs and expectations are consistently met, facilitating efficient communication and collaboration.
Manage the coordination of donation efforts, both giving and receiving.
_ Education & Qualifications _
Post secondary education in Business Administration, Office Management, or Hospitality Management would be preferred.
Bilingual in English and Inuktitut is required.
3-4 years experience in an administrative or hospitality role is required with 2 years being in a supervisory role.
First Aid/CPR/AED certified is required.
A satisfactory criminal record check and child abuse registry check.
Proficient with Microsoft Office including Word, Outlook and Excel.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
Creative mindset for event planning and guest engagement.
Strong leadership and team management skills.

Hourly wage is $30 per hour plus a bilingual premium for those who speak fluent in Inuktitut.
