In Canada, from coast to coast, ECC has a proven track record of providing turn-key camp solutions to mining and constructions projects, including the world-class Voisey's Bay Nickel project. East Coast Catering operated each phase of the camp from initial exploration to construction to the permanent concentrator complex.
ECC is the preferred provider of catering and janitorial services in Atlantic Canada's mining, oil, and gas sector. Currently, we serve the majority of offshore production / drilling installations and mine sites in Canada's East Coast region.
Duties and Responsibilities
A general helper actively participates in the daily operation within the accommodations and catering unit. Responsible for the cleanliness and sanitation of the facilities and assisting with food handling and food preparation. A general helper recognizes that Health and Safety are always our primary concern and ensure that safe work practices are foremost in all projects and activities.
Capability Requirements - Specific Functional/Technical Skills
Basic Survival Training (BST)
H2S Alive
Newfoundland and Labrador Offshore Safety Regulations Awareness
Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Training
5 years relevant industry experience a must
Food Safe Certificate
First Aid
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Highschool/GED
Basic knowledge of food handling and food preparation. Cook's papers an asset.
General principals of housekeeping and janitorial duties
Excellent people skills
Ability to work effectively and efficiently supervised or unsupervised
Team Player
Camp kitchen experience is an asset
