The Kitchen Cook reports to the Head Chef and contributes to the guest experience by creating memorable dishes that play with local flavours of the season.
Responsibilities
Set up and stocking stations with all necessary supplies.
Responsible for ensuring food and safety protocol is met.
Stock and maintain sufficient levels of prep at all times to ensure a smooth service flow.
Ensuring quality checks of dishes are up to restaurant standard.
Maintaining a clean and sanitary workstation including the line station, preparation area and refrigeration equipment.
Maintain a positive and professional work environment.
Closing duties (i.e. garbage disposal, sweep/mop kitchen floors)
Other duties as assigned
Requirements
Minimum 1 year cooking experience
Excellent understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, and knife skills
Experience in Japanese cuisine is an asset
Accuracy and speed in executing assigned tasks
A passion for Japanese and Asian culinary art and flavours
Ability to handle stress, multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment
Motivated and quick learner
Desire to learn and grow as a cook
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $21.00 per hour
