FARM EQUIPMENT OPERATOR

Cavendish Farms is looking for Seasonal Farm Equipment Operator for our Potato Farm located in Chapman Settlement, NS.

It is a SEASONAL position from mid September for approximately 3-4 weeks

Work Schedule : 7 days a week, 10-14 hours per day

Work Location: Chapman Settlement, NS.

Bonus : $2.50 bonus incentive for each hour worked during harvest ( Paid out at the end of the harvest season based on safety and attendance)

Successful Candidate will possess the following qualifications:

Must have valid driver's license; Class 3A considered an asset.
Experience operating tractors, harvesters, windrowers or other farming heavy equipment
Ability to lift up to 50lbs.
Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced team environment.
Availability to work extended hours, evenings, and weekends.
Willingness to work outdoors in mixed weather conditions.
Mechanical aptitude
High degree of attention to detail
Previous experience working on potato farm operations would be an asset.

Key responsibilities:

A positive attitude
Understand and comply with all provincial road rules.
Safely operate tractors and implements. Including but not limited to: windrowers, harvesters and various tillage implements.
Ability to effectively communicate with management and co-workers.
Preform daily equipment maintenance; ensuring all components are functioning properly.
Apply a high attention to detail in order to ensure the best results.
Contribute to the team's goals and provide feedback on how to better operations.
All other duties as assigned.
