Overview
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Health Care Aides to provide essential support to individuals in need of assistance with daily living activities. As a Health Care Aide, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for our clients, ensuring their comfort and well-being in a home setting. This position requires a commitment to patient care and the ability to work collaboratively with families and healthcare professionals.

You must also be registered in the Alberta Directory as an HCA.

Duties

Assist clients with daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support.
Provide companionship and emotional support to clients, fostering a positive environment.
Administer medication as prescribed and monitor client health conditions.
Prepare nutritious meals according to dietary restrictions and preferences.
Assist with light housekeeping tasks to maintain a clean and safe living environment.
Support clients with dementia care, ensuring their safety and comfort.
Perform heavy lifting as needed for client transfers or mobility assistance.
Collaborate with healthcare professionals and family members to develop personalized care plans.
Document client progress and any changes in condition accurately.

Qualifications

Previous experience in assisted living, hospice care, or home care is preferred.
Knowledge of patient care practices, including medication administration and safety protocols.
Experience working in nursing homes or similar settings is an advantage.
Ability to perform heavy lifting and assist clients with physical mobility needs.
Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with clients and their families.
Compassionate demeanor with a genuine desire to help others improve their quality of life.
Certification as a nurse aide or relevant training in caregiving is beneficial but not mandatory.
