Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and hardworking Yard Worker to join our team on a part-time, seasonal position. _ This position would be 1-3 shifts per week with variable hours depending on workload. Shifts could include call-ins or an early send home when its slower. The ideal candidate is someone with a flexible schedule who can adapt to fluctuating hours. Please note, this position is also seasonal and there may be a temporary layoff during the slower months of January through April. _

Duties and Responsibilities

Greet customers promptly when they arrive in the bays and lumberyard and load purchased items into their vehicle
Move heavy and bulky merchandise for customers and sales personnel (loading customer vehicles, loading/unloading delivery trucks, moving around products for sales team, replenishing lumber bins, etc.)
Maintain inventory in lumberyard and protect from weather
Restock building materials and other products
Provide friendly service to customers and report any customer issues to management Report any damage to the building/equipment immediately
Inspect forklift before using it and operate safely
Collaborate with other team members to come up with the best solutions to day-to-day problems
Strict adherence to the company's policy and procedures
Ensure Invoicing procedures are being followed
Dress code must be followed
Help with deliveries as needed
Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Ability to communicate effectively with customers, management, and other employees in person, by telephone, or by FM radio.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Previous warehouse or lumberyard experience is considered an asset

Physical Requirements

Able to lift 50 lbs regularly and up to 100 lbs occasionally
Able to bend, twist, & reach
Able to work in all weather conditions (heat, cold, sun, rain, & snow)

Schedule:

1-3 shifts per week (8 am -1 pm or 9 am-2 pm)

Call-ins
