Summary:
The Stockroom Clerk is responsible for receiving, organizing, and issuing materials, components, and supplies in support of manufacturing operations within a transportation manufacturing plant. This role plays a critical part in maintaining inventory accuracy, ensuring production lines are properly supplied, and supporting inventory practices to meet manufacturing schedules.
Key Responsibilities:
Receive, inspect, and log incoming materials and components from suppliers, ensuring accuracy against purchase orders and delivery documents.
Sort, label, and store items in designated stockroom locations following part number and lot tracking protocols.
Issue parts, tools, and consumables to production teams in alignment with job orders and manufacturing schedules.
Maintain inventory accuracy by performing daily cycle counts and participating in full inventory audits.
Coordinate with procurement and production planning teams to ensure material availability and prevent production delays.
Assist in the return and restocking of unused or defective items.
Package, label, and stage outbound shipments of materials or finished goods as needed.
Comply with plant safety standards, including handling hazardous materials according to OSHA or environmental guidelines.
Requirements:
Post-Secondary education is required.
Minimum one-two (1-2) years working in a stockroom or warehouse with inventory.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to read and interpret bills of materials (BOMs), part numbers, and engineering documentation.
Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs, standing for extended periods, and working in a fast-paced, production-focused environment.
Working Conditions:
Work is performed in a manufacturing warehouse setting, with exposure to moving machinery, noise, and temperature variations.
Use of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) such as gloves, safety glasses, and steel-toed boots may be required.
May involve overtime, and occasional weekend hours to support production schedules.
