Project Coordinator - Commercial Aluminum and Glass

Reporting to the Commercial Manager, the Project Coordinator is responsible for coordinating, managing, and reporting on residential and commercial projects. Working closely with other members of the project team, the incumbent plays a key role in assisting with quotes, sales, costing, scheduling and operational efficiency of the Commercial department.

Relocation assistance is available for the selected candidate should they reside outside of Whitehorse.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist the Commercial Manager, Project Manager and/or Site Superintendent with day-to-day duties of operations administration
Coordinate with general contractors and subcontractors in requesting and following up on shop drawing submittals, additional work pricing and design submittals
Assist the Commercial Manager and Project Manager in maintaining accurate and up-to-date logs (Shop drawings, RFI, RFQ, Purchase Orders, etc.), tracking responses and keeping both up to date of the status
Assist in creating and updating as-built and maintenance manual documents
Attend internal coordination and project meetings as requested/required
Coordinate and complete a project photograph record
Coding, sorting and submitting packing slips as and when received on site or at the office
Processing time and material work and preparing claims for review by the Project Manager
Apply and maintain site permits as required
Complete additional assignments and responsibilities as requested by the Commercial Manager, Project Manager or Senior Management.
Accurate input of data in various programs used within the company in a timely manner
Assisting with the procurement process and solicitation of vendors for construction projects
Maintaining, tracking and filing of all project related documents
Liaise between site staff and office personnel for project related matters
Develop spreadsheets, diagrams, photographs to keep track of the project
Attend conferences and training as required to maintain proficiency.

Requirements:

Post-Secondary Education/College Diploma - Civil Engineering Technology, Construction Management or similar
Completion of or currently pursuing the Project Management Professional (PMP) certification an asset
Knowledge and use of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Adobe, as well as general software aptitude
Valid Canadian Driver's License
Strong problem solving, organizational, and multi-tasking skills
Well-developed English communications skills to effectively conduct moderately complex technical or financial discussions with vendors, suppliers, and customers
Strong analytical ability and detail orientation
Be self-motivated and driven
Construction experience an asset.
