POSITION SUMMARY

TKI Construction is expanding the team!

As the Construction Manager, your leadership will be essential in fostering a culture of accountability, safety, and professionalism across all projects, ensuring that each team member has the tools, support, and guidance they need to deliver high-quality results. You will ensure that all processes and systems are aligned with organizational goals, while continuously seeking opportunities for process improvement and innovation from project inception to completion.

The ideal candidate will have at least ten years of experience in Construction and Project Management and has worked on multi-million-dollar commercial projects. We are looking for someone who is a team player. Someone who enjoys creative problem-solving as well as mentoring others. This position is permanent full-time, located in Kelowna, BC.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Project Leadership & Management

Oversee all facets of the construction process, including estimates, tenders, proposals, design development, scheduling, and team coordination.
Oversee project turnover from estimating to field operations, ensuring a smooth transition and clear understanding of project scope and deliverables.
Develop and implement detailed project work plans in collaboration with the project team and support strategic planning with Project Managers and Site Superintendents.
Monitor project performance against budget and schedule, identifying risks, cost trends, and schedule deviations.
Oversee the development of subcontractor work packages, scopes of work, and supplier coordination.

Financial Oversight & Risk Management

Develop, manage, and monitor project budgets from pre-construction through project execution.
Identify financial risks and opportunities and track cost performance to support profitability goals.
Ensure financial reporting, budget updates, and cost control measures are accurately maintained.

Team Leadership & Development

Oversee, coach, and mentor the Projects team to deliver high-quality projects on time and within budget.
Provide training and ongoing support for new team members on internal SOPs and systems.
Conduct performance evaluations, support career development, and foster a collaborative and innovative team environment.

Client & Stakeholder Engagement

Serve as one of the primary points of contact for team members, clients and key stakeholders when needed throughout the project lifecycle.
Facilitate consistent, transparent communication, ensuring expectations are met and issues are addressed promptly.

Compliance & Documentation

Enforce regulatory compliance, WorkSafeBC safety standards, and environmental best practices.
Ensure all documentation-project plans, reports, change orders, and financial records-is maintained accurately and is audit-ready.
Implement best practices and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance project delivery, quality, and team performance.

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree in construction management, Engineering, or a related field.
Minimum of 10+ years of progressive construction experience, including leadership of complex projects.
Strong understanding of pre-construction, estimating, project delivery, subcontractor coordination, and construction financials.
Demonstrated leadership and mentorship capabilities.
Proficient with project management software (e.g., Procore, MS Project) and construction documentation.
Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Proficiency in construction estimating methods and tools.
Familiarity with relevant building codes, safety regulations, and industry best practices.
