Job Summary: As a division of the Insurance Institute, Insurance Career Connections' mission is to promote the many rewarding career paths available in the property & casualty insurance industry and illustrate the role insurance plays in our society.
With the support of our industry stakeholders, Insurance Career Connections engages nearly 200,000 career seekers, High School Students, Post-Secondary Students, Career Changers and Internationally-Educated Professionals at 200+ events across the country per year.
A highly motivated professional who is solutions-focused, highly organized, and outcomes driven will play an integral awareness-building role as part of the Insurance Career Connections Team.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
In collaboration with the Career Connections team, the Program Officer will:
Plan, manage and host in-person networking events and online workshops including coordinating invitations and event RSVPs, product orders, and event logistics (e.g. booking venues, catering, name tags, event packages, travel arrangements, etc.)
Deliver engaging presentations to a wide array of audiences ranging in size from 5 - 100, authoring content for program materials, and responding to questions and inquiries from internal/external stakeholders
Collaborate with Insurance Career Connections Communications Coordinator in development of content for event invitations, campaign updates, presentations, website/digital outreach, etc.
Engage Insurance Career Connections team, industry volunteers, and HR/career development professionals to develop strong working relationships and facilitate events and initiatives
Place materials order for special events, coordinate shipping of orders, and confirming receipt of materials as required
Generate reports, maintain meeting and event records, and support tracking of event attendance and program leads
Provide on-site support at Insurance Career Connections events outside of regular business hours as required
Support a culture of continuous improvement by engaging in process review and refinement
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

Strong communication and public speaking skills
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast paced environment
Capacity to work well independently and as part of a team
Exercises good judgment, is solutions-focused, and works well with tight timelines
Commitment to excellence, continuous improvement and high levels of service
Proficient with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and web based applications;
2-3 years of experience in event management, communications, recruitment or program management
A Post-Secondary degree in any field
A Valid Drivers License and Vehicle for event attendance
Evening and weekend hours will sometimes be required, ability to travel nationally
Experience or education related to the property & casualty insurance industry is considered an asset, but not required
Employment Arrangement
This is a hybrid employment mode. Currently the number of in-person days working in the office is eight (8) days per month, with the remaining days working from home. These days will increase to ten (10) in-person days per month in 2026.
Some evening and weekend event attendance is required.
