Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Fiber Technician to join our team. The Fiber Technician will play a crucial role in the installation, maintenance, and repair of fiber optic networks. This position requires a strong understanding of network infrastructure and the ability to work with various telecommunications equipment. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, safety-conscious, and capable of working both independently and as part of a team.

Duties

Install, maintain, and troubleshoot fiber optic cabling systems.
Operate bucket trucks for aerial installations and repairs.
Conduct splicing of fiber optic cables to ensure optimal connectivity.
Perform testing and certification of fiber optic networks using specialized equipment.
Collaborate with other technicians to complete projects efficiently and safely.
Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used.
Adhere to safety protocols while working at heights or in confined spaces.
Assist in the installation of low voltage systems related to telecommunications.

Skills

Strong knowledge of network infrastructure principles and practices.
Experience with telecommunication systems and equipment.
Proficient in bucket truck operation for aerial work.
Familiarity with telephone systems and low voltage installations.
Ability to operate forklifts safely in various environments.
Basic welding skills for necessary repairs or installations.
Understanding of electrical systems as they relate to fiber optics.
Knowledge of Wide Area Network (WAN) configurations and troubleshooting.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $27.00-$45.00 per hour
