Overview
The Safety Coordinator plays a vital role in ensuring a safe and compliant work environment. This position is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining safety programs and policies that adhere to regulatory standards. The Safety Coordinator will collaborate with various departments to promote a culture of safety and health within the organization.

Duties

Maintain all aspects of workplace safety as per appropriate legislation and company policies
Develop and implement safety training programs for employees to enhance awareness and compliance with safety regulations.
Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and ensure adherence to safety protocols.
Investigate accidents and incidents, documenting findings and recommending corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
Collaborate with management to create and update safety policies, procedures, and emergency response plans.
Facilitate safety meetings and training sessions, providing guidance on best practices for workplace safety.
Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, training sessions, and incident reports.
Maintain all aspects of US DOT, CANADA MTO, IFTA, IRP licensing and plating
Maintain maintenance and driver files as per appropriate legislation and company policies
Audit log compliance, roadside inspections, and drive cameras to identify potential safety issues
Participate in claims as necessary
Maintain all aspects of Drug and Alcohol Program
Review carrier documents to ensure compliance is maintained

Skills

Strong knowledge of MTO, DOT and OHSA regulations.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective training development and employee engagement.
Ability to handle multiple tasks with attention to fine details.
Ability to analyze data related to workplace incidents and develop actionable insights.
Proficient in conducting risk assessments and implementing preventive measures.
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in maintaining documentation.
Ability to work collaboratively across departments to foster a culture of safety.

This position is essential for ensuring that all employees can work in a safe environment while promoting continuous improvement in safety practices throughout the organization.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: From $21.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
